Have a big family wedding, birthday or anniversary party coming up and want it to be Zero Waste? You can use the specially cleaned, Whangaparāoa Community Recycling Centre bins, liners and signs and then bring the full bins of glass, cans or cardboard back to the WCRC for recycling. Hibiscus Coast Zero Waste can also advise on appropriate serveware that is reusable or home compostable so plates, bowls and cutlery can be composted rather than be sent to the landfill.

Hibiscus Coast Zero Waste is capable of managing public zero waste events of up to 15,000 participants.

For the past three years Hibiscus Coast Zero Waste has carried out the zero waste event management for the Boulevard Arts Festival and Surf Sounds for Destination Orewa Beach.

Zero Cost Waste Management at Events on the Hibiscus Coast

Thanks to funding from Auckland Council, Hibiscus Coast Zero Waste can offer Zero Cost waste management at qualifying events.

To qualify the event must be

  • within the Hibiscus Coast area

  • a public event

  • less than 500 people expected

The service will provide bins for sorting rubbish/compostables and recycling and will take this away at the end of the event. Staff will be provided to monitor the bin stations.
